Presidential candidate Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu has criticized the current government led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, saying it lacks the discipline required to solve Uganda’s mounting challenges.
Gen. Muntu, the flag bearer of the Alliance for National Transformation in the 2026 general election, made the remarks yesterday while campaigning in Mitooma District.
Addressing enthusiastic supporters during a public rally at Ijumo playground in Ruhinda North, Gen. Muntu emphasized that discipline is the bedrock of good governance and the only way Uganda can break free from corruption, poverty, and mismanagement.

Some residents, however, challenged him to move beyond rhetoric, with Ann Kyokushemererwa, a voter from Kabira Town Council, urging the NRA historical to unveil his manifesto in local languages so that rural populations can better understand his plans instead of spending time criticizing president Museveni, who still has a lot of support in the countryside.
