President Museveni congratulated Joseph Robinette Biden upon his election as the 46th President of the United States of America.
The President also says he expects Biden to continue with the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
AGOA established in 2000 is meant to assist sub-Saharan Africa economies by accessing the American market.
The American voters have chosen Democrat Joe Biden as their 46th president and Kamala Harris as the first female Vice President, ending the term of controversial President and Republican Donald J Trump.
The results which were first called yesterday night saw incumbent Trump reject the outcome from the onset citing fraud especially through the mail-in ballots.
Biden won both the popular and electoral college vote garnering 290 Electoral College votes surpassing the required 270 against Donald Trump’s 214.
A day after Biden’s win was called, President Museveni has taken to social media, congratulating him. Museveni says that with its black population of 47.4 million people, as well as a large Christian population linked with us by faith, the US could easily be a natural ally of Uganda and Africa. Ends.
