A man 35 was arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of murder hours after another man was hit by a car and killed in east London, police said.
Yesterday, Metropolitan Police officers were called to reports of a crash between a car and pedestrian in Barking Road, Newham, at 05 pm local time.
A man, 35, found injured at the scene near the junction with Arragon Road, died a short time later, the force say.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who is leading the investigation, said: “I am aware that a large number of people had been at an event in Barking Road overnight and many would have witnessed the incident, appealing for those people to come forward immediately to witness. END
