The Nomination exercise for Local Council leaders in Kasese District has entered day three with multitudes of candidates turning up to pick nomination forms.
The Electoral Commission District Registrar for Kasese Hajji Suleiman Kato says that many aspirants submit incorrect particulars of their seconders especially when it comes to capturing their Voter Identification Numbers and National Identification Numbers-NIN, which are mandatory requirements for a candidate’s nomination.
Kato noted that most of the candidates have showed up with some signatures from people who are not real voters from their respective area, an act which causes them to toss them back to search for the right people.
The District EC, urged the Local Council V and III leaders to make sure they submit their documents as early as possible since they require a big number of seconders from their electives areas. Hajji Kato explains: ……..
Hajji Kato noted that the exercise started with three centers of Munkunyu in Bukonzo East, Hima Town Council in Busongora North and Kasese Municipality.
He however, called upon the candidates to make sure they turn up with the required documents so as to ease the exercise which is expected to run up to 1st October 2020.
Some of the candidates whose documents were not fully satisfying were seen vacating the place whereas those whose documents were fully reviewed moved out of the place with joy.
Sylivia Kabugho commonly known as Nyakibaba aspiring to be the District Councilor for Mahango and Kyarumba Sub Counties on the National Resistance Movement ticket noted that she was looking forward to taking on her other counterparts.

Others including Uziah Muthabali for District Councilor Kitabu Sub County on FDC ticket and Edward Mangoye Muhindo for Councilor Kyarumba Sub County among others who pledged to lobby for their electorates as well as looking forward to proper service delivery. ENDS
