Business is said to have remained at standstill for hours’ yesterday as the local residents, most of them farmers welcomed Hon. Nelson Masereka, the Kasese district councilor representing Muhokya town council and their irrigation chairman colleague who returned home after being given a court bail.
The two were arrested and later taken for remand at Mubuku prison over reported threatening violence and malicious damage to property in Muhokya mini-irrigation scheme that has had management rankles between the old and the newly elected leaderships.
Addressing the excited residents, Hon. Nelson Masereka appreciated the support of the locals residents he said were aware that the charges against them were a fabrication by those he described as saboteurs of area development. Hon. Nelson speaking………
The excited residents interviewed described the release of their councilor and irrigation chairperson as a relief to them, with some saying the Blessed Mother Mary was present to intercede for the two suspects of falsehoods. Some of the residents……….

Salveri Toshomwe, the NRM flag bearer for Muhokya town council Local council three seat said whereas the reported saboteurs of the irrigation scheme operations were reportedly wealthy, he was consulting in collaboration with friends, the relevant officers for the good of the vulnerable local farmers.
