The mismanagement issues of Muhokya Min irrigation scheme in Kasese District will soon come to an end.
This was said by the Deputy Resident District Commissioner in charge of Busongora County Mr. Zephernus Mubingwa at Muhokya town council hall this afternoon in a meeting to settle out the differences in the management of Muhokya Mini irrigation scheme.
The famers in the scheme have been divided for quite long over finding the rightful person to manage the scheme.
After several requests were made to the district authorities for the scheme to have a new executive, to replace the old one led by Mr. Costa Mughumbirwa who had stayed in leadership for over six years, a team from the district led by the District Vice Chairperson Hon. Gatrace Ithungu officiated over the election of a new executive.

However, the Chairperson Local council two for Muhokya says most of the famers were not present on the Election Day saying even most of the members on the new executive were not famers.
But the Kasese District production officer Mr. Julius Baluku said the managerial issues with in the Muhokya Min-irrigation scheme has affected its development and therefore not serving the intended purpose, Mr. Julius added that at times, the scheme has always been left out in the budget following the confusion with its management. Mr. Mubingwa, the Deputy RDC says government is not ready to see the famers in Muhokya missing opportunities because of the few individuals with personal interests, He therefore promised the people of Muhokya that a lasting solution will soon be communicated to the famers in the Muhokya Mini-irrigation scheme.
