Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese District Local Council Five Chairperson, has called for collaborative efforts in empowering the local community as means to deter them from promoting activities that endanger the environment.
He also said his office is to collaborate with his counterpart of Kasese Municipality to avail a nursery bed that will serve the locals with the required tree seedlings for planting.
Addressing officials from the Albertine Water Management zone held at Kasese Municipal Central division council hall this afternoon, Mr. Muhindi also asked the locals to own plans against disasters and their causes for a lasting solution than continued lamentations every after cataclysms.
