Mr. Zephaneous Mubingwa, the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in charge of Busongora County has threatened to deal with whoever intends to disrupt the operations of the official mini-irrigation scheme water dam in Rutooke in Muhokya town council.
Mr. Mubingwa’s threats follow statements by the illegal faction leaders during today’s meeting that the rivers in 1994, ably supplied water to four dams, an indication that the district technical report had some levels of bias. Mr. Matela, Ms Kyosimire speaking……
Reading the technical report by the district earlier, Mr. Julius Baluku, the District Production Officer indicated that two dams will not only increase water challenges but negatively impact on the required finances for maintance and the environment. Mr. Julius speaking….
Addressing local farmers and leaders of Muhokya town council in Kasese district this afternoon, Mr. Mubingwa said whereas his office was yet to receive more government interventions for the dam that was temporarily repaired by the locals, he won’t allow repeated un called for meetings forced by those he called selfish individuals disrupting the scheme operations. Mr. Hakimu Kimbugwe, Mr. Doe Atooki, Mr. Saveri Tushabomwe among other farmers, hailed the RDC and the district leadership for the decision they say will improve production. END
