Mubende Regional Referral Hospital has discharged three
COVID-19 patients.
The discharged patients include a truck driver entered Uganda at Mpondwe-Bwera
border post in Kasese District mid last month, a 14-year-old boy and a
woman.
The truck driver was intercepted from Kawadsi parking yard in Mubende town
while the other two are both residents of Mutukula border in Kyotera
district.
Dr Jonathan Ssekitto who heads the hospital treatment centre says that there
are 18 COVID-19 patients still admitted at the facility have also shown
great signs of improvement and will soon be discharged.

The State Minister of Health for General Duties Robinah Nabbanja handed over
the certificates of discharge to the recovered patients. She said that the
government will expand the hospital with a total of 300 beds using temporary
tents.

The confirmed number of COVID-19 cases in the country are 755 after fourteen
new cases of COVID-19 were recorded from samples that were drawn on Thursday.
