Mr. Jafali Kigutiha, the Central Division FDC boss in Kasese Municipality has called for joint efforts that would see the newly established Mt. St. Mary`s Hospital in Kasese equipped with cancer diagnosis equipment to benefit the community.

Mt. Kigutiha who appreciates Hon. Ferigo Kambale, the Kasese Municipal MP for his recent concerns about the increasing cases of cancer patients from Kasese district, asked the Legislator to join hands with Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira, the Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese that owns the hospital, to lobby and equip the health facility with cancer diagnosis and treatment machines.

Mr. Kigutiha who doubles as the local council chairperson for Basecamp Lower, was concerned that the cancer institute in Kampala was very inconveniencing and costly for the low income local community members, most of whom do not afford the requirements there.

    Mr. Kigutiha speaking……

At the burial of the late Julius Mumbahya in Kyondo subcounty in Kasese district, Hon. Ferigo pledged to consult health experts from the Ministry of Health about why most cancer patients at the cancer institute in Kampala, hail from Kasese district. END
