The highly anticipated tusker lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon has kicked off this morning in Kasese district, with thousands competing in the four categories of the race.
Runners will compete in the 42 km, 21km, 10km and 5km categories.
The longest race of the day will start at the equator and take runners towards Kasese town via the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountain.
Mr. Amos Wekesa, the Organizer of the event told Kasese Guide Radio last evening at Sandton Hotel in Kasese town that runners from 33 countries have arrived and are participating today.
Wekesa, thanked government for providing security to the runners and also people of Kasese district for owning the Mt.Rwenzori Marathon, reaffirming that all kits have been bought. Mr. Wekesa speaking….
