A senior six students at Bwera Secondary School in Kasese district, Ms Edirne Kusemerwa has donated 200 Kilograms of Cassava flour to the needy in Kasese district.

Receiving the food relief at his office on behalf of the Kasese district COVID-19 task force, the Kasese Deputy RDC, Mr. Joshua Masereka described Edirne as a sympathetic, strong, and focused young girl whose exemplary gesture to save Ugandans from the deadly Corona virus epidemic needs to be emulated. Mr. Joshua on Edirne……….

Edirne said her contribution to the public is aimed at helping locals who can’t afford to cater for their welfare since the lockdown has affected them.

The 19 year old Edirne who asked the God fearing people to go by the teachings of the Bible that emphasizes love for a neighbor said her contribution was forced by media stories about some suffering categories of people going hungry because of the current lock down as a result of the deadly COVID-19 epidemic. Ms Edirne speaking……

The Kasese Municipal Mayor, His Worship Godfrey Kabyanga told our reporter that the donation by Edirne reminds him of the Biblical widow in Jerusalem as quoted in the synoptic gospels of Mark and Luke where Jesus described the offering as big, genuine and from a “pure heart“.

    His Worship Kabyanga speaking……….

Ms Edirne who came to fame for her “Get off my way song“ is the first youngest person and musician in Kasese district to donate food relief to the needy during this Corona virus emergency. END
