Mr. Saulo Maate, the former Forum for Democratic Change chairperson for Kasese district has expressed his dissatisfaction over Hon. Kambale Ferigo’s failure to fulfill his pledge to lead a peaceful demonstration against government’s move to withdraw medical staff from Kilembe Mines Hospital based in Kasese municipality.
Last month, Hon. Ferigo, the Kasese Municipal Member of Parliament announced that he was to lead the local residents of greater Kilembe in a peaceful demonstration on December 1st 2023 over the decision, a move he later withdraw after government reportedly decided to suspend the plan that it is implementing in other areas of the district and country at large.
Addressing media at the FDC offices in Kasese town yesterday, Mr. Saulo described the suspension by the legislator as disappointing and a betrayal to the local residents, thereby, asking Mr. Ferigo to give a satisfactory explanation to his decision. Mr. Saulo speaking……
Mr. Saulo who said he was ready to join the peaceful demonstration, asked local leaders in Kilembe and Hon. Ferigo against cowardice but rather act in the interests of the local population. Mr. Saulo speaking….
He later asked government to expedite the construction of Rukoki health center for that is being prepared for a hospital status soon. END
