Mr. Pimako Kasereka, the Nyamwamba division local council three chairperson in Kasese has called for acquisition of land lease as a legal measure to minimize land conflicts in the area.
Mr. Pimako told this radio that a committee he constituted recently wasn’t a local court to settle land disagreements but to guide on proper legal way of acquiring land.
He says his office had received many land related complaints which he things can be minimized if the community owned and protected land by law. Mr. Pimako speaking1……….
Mr. Pimako also called for proper use of land for purposes of development but also minimizing natural calamities now that a big part of the Division is prone to disasters especially during the rainy season.
Mr. Pimako`s statements come in hardly two weeks after a house in Kihara road cell in Rukoki Ward of Nyamwamba division in Kasese Municipality was demolished reportedly at the orders of an alleged land owner who blames the victim for being an encroacher for a long standing land rankles that began around 2010.
