The NRM Presidential candidate, Mr. Yoweri Museveni, has outlined the restoration of peace in the Karamoja as one of his government’s greatest achievements.
Speaking in Napak district as he concluded his campaign trail in the region, Mr. Museveni said the achievement of peace in Karamoja is a testament to his government’s commitment to ensuring the region’s stability and security.
Mr. Museveni attributed the success to the unified politics and not sectarianism, which enabled them to build up a strong national party and the capacity of the national army that managed to restore the peace in the different parts of the country. Mr. Museveni speaking……..
The local leaders also confirmed that they have indeed secured peace in the region and are now seeing signs of development and that people can now move freely at any time of day, unlike before, when road ambushes, cattle rustling, and killings were common occurrences. END
