The rising cases of suicide in Kasese district has drawn the attention of civil society organizations, Kasese Guide Radio has learnt.
At least six people have committed suicide by hanging in Kasese district since January this year.
Mr. Joseph Mulex, the Executive Director Vodem Advocacy Uganda, based in Kamulikwizi ward in Kasese Municipality, said that it’s unfortunate that people created in Gods image could chose to end their own lives.
Mulex, attributed the rampant cases of suicide to domestic Violence and multiple loans, which he said Vodem Advocacy Uganda is meditating people before make uncalled for decisions to end their lives.

Mulex said many people have come to him with broken hearts and frustration caused by stress and multiple loans but he has successfully mediated and counselled his clients at a free cost. He said he was deeply concerned not only about the suicide cases but also the increase in unexplained murders. END.
