The Leader of Opposition in Parliament Mathias Mpuuga has demanded a comprehensive report from the government on the killing of police officers in the line of duty.
The demand follows an attack on Busiika Police Station where unidentified gunmen shot and killed the in-charge of the Criminal Investigations Department Alex Wagaluka and Police Constable Moses Ongol.They also went away with their two guns.
Two other police officers; Adrian Ochom and Stephen Odama were injured in the attack.
As parliament business resumed yesterday afternoon, Mpuuga demanded an explanation from Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja -the head of Government business in the House even though she was not available to offer the explanation. Mpuga on police deaths….
In the absence of the Prime Minister, the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among dismissed fears of a formation of a rebel group but added that the Office of the Prime Minister would make a statement to Parliament about the findings of the investigations as soon as possible. END
