Members of Parliament on the National Economy committee have advised the ministry of Education to cancel the current academic year by making a bold pronouncement sooner than later on the fate of students and parents who have been left in suspense regarding this year`s school calendar.
Schools and tertiary institutions have been shut since the 18th of March when President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ordered students to go home as one of the measures to control the spread of the Corona virus.
The legislators voiced their concerns during a meeting today with the state minister for higher education, Chrysestom Muyingo in Kampala who was before the committee to present a statement on the impact of COVID-19 on the education and sports sector.
