The Mozambican military has said it has taken three girls who were kidnapped by Islamist militants back to their families.
The military says the girls, aged between nine and 13, were found in the bush in Macomia district in Cabo Delgado province, northern Mozambique on 11 February after escaping captivity on a militant group’s base.
They were abducted in Palma, Cabo Delgado, in November, according to state television, TVM,
The girls said that they had been forced to become wives of the militants.
Their parents said that they had never expected to see their daughters alive again. ENDS
