A fortnight after Kikaaya zone chairman, Moses Katumba, helped security personnel to repulse machete attackers, he has allegedly been receiving threats that have forced him to flee his home.
Katumba says he has been getting threats in form of messages and warnings from strangers and sometimes he is waylaid even in broad day light.
He adds that on several occasion strangers holding knives and machetes have been passing through his courtyard vowing that he will pay for his “rumours” that led to the arrest of their members.
Kikaaya zone was raided by machete wielding men on May 25 where a number people were cut and left nursing serious injuring.
Since every padlock he leaves on his house is destroyed with superglue or other chemicals, Katumba explains that he has taken a decision not to spend a night in his house for fear that he will be killed alongside his sick son.
The Chairman alleges that his efforts to seek police protection have become fruitless as no one has been arrested for threatening his life.
He also claims he was once waylaid by a group that was comprised of people who seemed to be members of security forces.Mr.Katumba on threats….
