The Kasese Chief Magistrateβs Court has further remanded Ms. Morian Mbambu back to Mubuku Government Prison until 23rd October 2025to allow for the prosecution witnesses.
Court presided over by His Worship Ngamijje Feisal, heard that on 4th April 2025, while in Kidodo Cell, Kasese Municipality, Ms. Morian allegedly disappeared with a one-and-a-half-year-old baby boy identified as Mumbere Kismart.
The Resident State Attorney, Counsel Godfrey Oundo, presented his fourth principal state witness during the court session. He informed the court that he still had two more witnesses who would testify and provide reasons why they believe Ms. Mbambu may have stolen the child.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after the court session, the defense lawyer, Counsel Atholere Denize from Uganda Christian Lawyers, stressed that once the state has completed presenting its witnesses, she will be ready to begin cross-examination. Counsel Denize speakingβ¦.
She emphasized that the defense is keen to help the court determine whether the accused has any knowledge of the missing child from Kidodo.End
