More security forces and surveillance on Lake Edward, on the border side of Kasese District has been beefed up after the Democratic Republic of Congo recorded new cases of Ebola in the country’s Eastern side.
The first case of Ebola was a 26-year-old electrician from Beni and later a reported 11 months old baby girl who succumbed to the disease.
The RDC Kasese, Lt Joe Walusimbi says they have already deployed more forces along the border points to ensure that Uganda is safe.

Earlier, Mr. Pascal Ecumu, the in Charge of the Marine Police Unit on Lakes Edward and George said that beefing up their operations was safeguard Uganda but also continue working against illegal nets and boats that compromise the fishing guidelines on the lakes.
