    More fund needed for Neonatal intensive care Units in Kasese-Hon Florence.

    The Kasese district woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Florence Kabugho has pledged to task Government to increase the budget for Neonatal intensive care Units all over the country in a bid to minimize Pre-natal Mortality rates.

    Presiding over a function to commemorate the international World pre-maturity day celebrations held at Mpondwe primary school in Kasese district yesterday(17th.Nov.2021), Hon. Florence said the safety of the lives is her priority and that she will continue pushing until the budget to re construct Maternity Ward at Rukoki healthy center four is realized.

    The Maternity Ward was one of the many key units at the health facility that were destroyed when the main building there was gutted by fire mid this year. Hon. Florence speaking………

    In his report, the Assistant Commissioner for Reproductive and Infant Health at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Richard Mugahi regrets that for the last fifteen years, the rates of new babies dying within one month after birth have remained at 27 of every 1000 babies but that the Ministry had set a target of bringing it down to 12.     Ms. Annette Nziabake a mother who previously delivered premature at Bwera Hospital appreciates the health facility staff that got her through what she calls a trying moments of a mother.

    She also asked expectant mothers to consult recognized facilities for their health challenges. Ms. Nziabake speaking……….

    Earlier, the Kasese RDC, Lt Joe Walusimbi spent most of his speech time to remind the community against allowing in suspicious objects and individuals they must report about, adding that security was on alert to deal with any eventuality. Lt Walusimbi speaking…….
