Monkey population is said to be increasing and disrupting official duty at Mubende district headquarters, reports have suggested.
Hon. Samuel Mayanja, the councilor for East Division who said the monkeys are always in offices, appealed to the Uganda Wildlife Authority to trap them.
Ms Aisha Ayebare, also a district councilor for Kigando Sub-county, said the monkeys have in several occasions destroyed documents in offices as his counterpart for Butoloogo, Hon. Julius Nkobazambogo, blames the district heads for not clearing the bushes surrounding the headquarters. Mr. Ronald Loteti, the natural resource officer for Mubende District, says the invasion of monkeys is a result of increased deforestation in the district, leaving the pre without places to live in.
