The ministry of local government has called for indiscriminative allocation of lock-ups in Kasese main market but apply accommodative approaches to serve those who qualify to benefit from the multi-billion structure that was put up to develop the market venders and Kasese Municipality as whole.
Mr. Swizin Mungoma, a commissioner in the Ministry of local government said that they were in Kasese district to iron out concerns raised by some traders in the district over what they describe as discriminative approaches in allocating lockups in the market.
He calls for calm among the market venders, adding that they has organized a number meetings aimed at settling concerns which he said he wouldn’t want to turn into a conflict that would in the end affect development. Mr. Swizin speaking1………
The national coordinator for markets and agricultural trade improvement program, Mr. Geoffrey Ettendu described the raised concerns as healthy and intended to streamline the market operations, praying however that they ought to be solved within the Kasese Municipal and Venders` leadership than causing legal battles.
