By Kyamanduma Patrick,
The local leadership and community members in Muhokya town council have called for no pretense by the Muhindi local government but officially declare their failure to deal with the unending leadership wrangles in the Rutooke based Min-irrigation scheme in the area.
Speaking to the media later after what many called a renewed battle between Mr. Edward Byaruhanga, the local council two chair perceived to be the fuel of the former irrigation leadership sticking her hands in the current operations, and the locals, Mr. Robert Guma, the area local council three chairperson wonders if surely the situation at hand was too heavier for the whole district leadership to deal with.
Mr. Guma who said now that the engagements by several leaders in Kasese seem to be failing, the situation is likely to turn bloody if no other approaches are employed. Mr. Guma speaking………
Whereas Mr. Byaruhanga charged against our reporter over the matter, this radio was able to apply underground approaches to get his side.
Mr. Byaruhanga who blames the Kasese RDC, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi for presiding over the situation he has no much details about, he vowed not to allow non-farmers in Muhokya to lead the irrigation scheme whose operations he alleges, has not only been politicized but influenced by selfish people. Mr. Byaruhanga speaking………
In an interview with the recently elected farmers’ Chairperson, Mr. Deo Kwatoti said it looked a normal day for communal work by the farmers until Mr. Byaruhanga and his family turned violent against the calm gardeners before police interventions. Mr. Kwatoti speaking……….
Mr. Peter Busobozi Fosi, the Muhokya town council NRM chairperson who is said to have been beaten during the scuffle, alleged Mr. Byaruhanga is a tricky man who has misled police to believe charges of malicious damage he reportedly staged against the farmers who were clearing water channels. Mr. Fosi speaking…….
More details will come your way in our subsequent bulletins. END.
