    Military Court martial siting for alleged UPDF who shot dead a clergyman has been adjourned.

    The UPDF military Court martial siting at Karusandara primary school in Karusandara sub county in Kasese district adjourned to June 30th the hearing of murder charges against four UPDF officers who reportedly shot dead a clergyman attached to South Rwenzori diocese in Kasese district.

    The Chairperson for Court martial who is also in charge of training and operations in the UPDF mountain Division, Lt Col. Felix Nyero adjourned court proceedings after the Satte prosecutors completed the cross examination of the eight state witnesses but also in consideration of the night curfew. Lt Col.     Prosecutor Lt Col. Gabriel Mavengina had earlier told court that on 24 th June 2020 while at Kikura cell in Hima town council, private Abraham Lokwap with malice and forethought shot dead the lay leader for St. stephens Kogere COU on his way to the his garden on a motorcycle in campany of his wife.

    The first witness who is also the widow to the late Benon Musimenta, Ms Allen Musimenta told court how her husband had repondedd to the suspects` orders to stop until one of thm released an alleged bullet that claimed the life of the deceased. Ms Allen Musimenta…….

    In his submission, the fourth witness who is also the Police`s medical doctor in charge of the greater Rwenzori, ASP Dr. Jonathan Katalemwa said the deceased`s death was caused by hemorrhage as a result of Bullet wounds.

    In his opening remarks, the Karusandara local council three Chairperson, Mr. Ezra Turyahebwa  asked the community to look at the act as personal by the suspect before proposing periodic review course that would remind the security personnel of their roles. Mr. Ezra speaking …….

    The Kasese RDC Lt Joe Walusimbi called for calmness among the deceased`s family that should desist from diversions forced by the Kasese politics, saying that the law will take its course. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace. END
