Government plans to train medics in braille and sign language to ease their communication with the blind, visually impaired and deaf people, Ms. Loi Sekalombi Muhindo has revealed.
Ms. Loi who was addressing women and children living with disabilities during a dialogue meeting organized by ADD international at Verina gardens on Wednesday, Ms. Loi said other than procuring the required delivery beds for PWDs, government was investing in the communication skills for the medics to ease service delivery to people with physical impairments in Uganda. She also asked People Living with Disabilities against using their physical state to live a lazy life but use the God given gifts to prove their ability to improve their living condition. Ms. Loi speaking……..
In an earlier interview, Hon. Alice Muhindo, the Nyamwamba Division female councilor for People with Disabilities in Kasese Municipality called for empowerment of her electorates, adding that repeated begging for help along the Kasese streets, cheapens them before the public. END
