Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kasese has urged medical workers to prioritize personal hygiene and the general cleanliness of the patients.
In his homily while presiding over holy Mass as the diocese celebrates the world day of the sick, Bishop Kibira who commended the administration of Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital for keeping the facility clean and desirable for patients, described personal hygiene as the first treatment thus, insisting that the hospital should prioritize quality services to God’s people. The Ordinary later said they were pressing every button to ensure that Mt. St. Mary’s hospital be equipped with the required medical drugs for the safety of lives.
Dr. Edward Wefula, the Medical Director at the facility said celebrating the day of the sick reminds them of their ethical key principles of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice among others, adding that the celebrations were to increase their attitude to exemplary service delivery.
