The Kasese Municipal Mayor, His Worship Chance Kahindo plans an emergency meeting to associate with the concerns of the flood victims encamped in Muhokya town council in Kasese district.

His Worship Chance`s plans follow a revelation by Ms Rehema Aryema, the chairperson for the encamped flood victims that the Kasese Municipal Mayor and his MP Hon. Kambale Ferigo, as well as Mr. Erifaz Muhindi among others, had never reached them.

Mr. Chance says the meeting that would among others be attended by his division local council three chairpersons and town clerks among others, would look for a common position about the matter before consulting with the Kasese district local government.

The apologetic artist turned politician later said that they were short of ideas on how to intervene directly now that the matters of the internally displaced people in Muhokya were being handled by the Kasese district local government and the office of the Prime Ministers in Kampala. His worship Chance speaking1……..

In an interview with Kasese guide radio yesterday, the Kasese district chairperson, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi said that whereas government was to re advertise for the procurement of the land for a permanent settlement of the encamped people in Muhokya, the 3.5 million shillings valued wasn’t enough for each of the titled piece of land as planned, adding that they were proposing to the PM who will be in Kasese next month to give cash to the victims.

Earlier, Hon. Rehema who endlessly appreciates the efforts by Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira for being an exemplary donor to those in need, calls for the assistance from other institutions and Good Samaritans especially to the elderly helpless people in the camp. Hon. Rehema speaking2….

About 200 flood victims in Muhokya had been verified for permanent settlement. END.
