The Kasese Municipality Mayor, His Worship Chance Kahindo, has faulted the Kasese Resident District Commissioner for what he called gratuitous arrests of head teachers who send away learners over unpaid development support fees in government aided schools.
Addressing education stakeholders during the International teachers’ day celebrations for Kasese Municipality held at Rwenzori Square over the weekend, Mr. Chance who appreciated government for funding various developments in Kasese, wondered why the office of the RDC was pressurizing and arresting some head teachers who are mandated to implement resolutions, including those made by parents and guardians.

Responding to the concerns, Mr. Girivazio Bwambale Monday, a teacher turned politician who doubles as the district local council five chairperson however, asked politicians to read deeper into matters of law.
Hon. Girivazio who is the district councilor representing workers, said whereas the guiding principles under Universal Primary Education clears schools to levy some monies in agreement with the parents, the decision of the two parties must not affect the innocent learners. END
