His Worship Chance Kahindo, the Kasese Municipal Mayor has threatened to apply minimum force against any developments on the Kamulikwizi water channel in Kasese Municipality.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio at his office shortly after a stakeholders’ meeting this afternoon, Mr. Chance who said the Nyamwamba river behaviour was already known and no longer an emergency per say, reaffirmed his earlier call for the developers on the channel to vacate forthwith before it’s too late.
His Worship Chance said a disaster monitoring team had been put in place to identify the disaster dark spots and developments on the water channel for possible relocation soon as plans to consult government for more resources, continue. His Worship Chance speaking……
The relatively charged affected local residents, blamed Kasese Municipality for apportioning blame than technically guiding the situation they allege, require resources to fully seal off dark spots to keep the river in her channel. Some residents speaking ……
Earlier, Ms Evenly Mugume, the municipal’s environmental officer, had earlier asked the community members neighboring the water channel, to devise better garbage disposal and support efforts to clear the blocked water ways before heavy rains pour. END
