Kasese Municipality may need to employ more tactics to approach their plan to relocate Mawa market fish dealers who seem unwilling to welcome the move.
The Kasese Municipal Mayor this week announced that selected market vendors in the popular Mawa market would be relocated under a move to decongest the market whose high number of customers were frustrating the Standard Operation Procedure against COVID-19.
Speaking to Kasese guide radio last evening, Ms Jazila Masika wonders why fishmongers were victims of every relocation plans that had previously been halted by the former political leadership.
Ms Jazila who threatened to stage a peaceful demonstration against the move insists that Saad market near Railway station would not promote their business now that public and private transport were temporarily banned to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Jazila speaking….

Fish Mongers’ Chairperson in Mawa market, Mr. Abubakar Katera said that he doesn’t have to be crucified now that he was just a messenger who had been asked to deliver a relocation notice to his electorates.
He however said that as the Kasese RDC reportedly pledges to intervene into the matter after the fish dealers threatened to storm his office, the fishmongers have to this evening to relocate. Mr. Abubakar speaking…
