Ms Zainabu Asiimwe, the Kasese district probation and welfare officer calls for plans that would monitor the suspected increasing cases of maternal mortality rates in Kasese district after cases of motherless infants below two weeks increased.
In a press statement at Rwenzori Hotel International yesterday, Ms Zainabu was concerned that whereas efforts to protect children were slowly yielding fruits, saving the lives of mothers was paramount to the community.
Ms Zainabu said 14 mothers dying at birth in last three months is a big number especially from the sub counties of Munkunyu, Ihandiro, Maliba and Kyabarungira among others. Ms Zainab speaking1……..
She later argued mothers to be mindful of what they drink and eat for their safety and the unborn babies, before warning them against over dependence on Traditional Birth Attendants but health facilities.
