Mrs. Grace Kimekeke, the Mothers’ Union President for South Rwenzori Diocese has warned married women against luring their husbands into luxurious Christmas festivity demands that may end up frustrating other family developments in future.
She was quick to remind her fellow women of the biting economic situation that if not dealt with consciously, may turn against them economically in future.
Speaking to our reporter at her office yesterday, Ms. Kimekeke who called for massive approaches against domestic violence for peace to prevail, expressed her disbelief that some women were diverted from the real meaning of Christmas by pushing their husbands into luxurious expenditures that badly break their income cycles and frustrate other future plans, including the education of their children. She however said it was also important for men to appreciate and have respect for their wives whom she said make homes relevant despite being helpers.
Meanwhile, Mr. Pauline Bwambale, the local council three Chairperson for Kilembe sub-county in Kasese district described luxurious expenditure targeting Xmas as a future source of financial challenges to many families.
