    Market Vendors in Mawa market on Hiking food prices.

    Mrs. Medius Monday, a market vender in Mawa market has called for humanity among her fellow venders whom she blames for taking advantage of the current deadly Corona virus to hike prices of food staff to maximize profits.

    Ms Medius said this following an intervention by our reporter who asked how she was prepared to deal with the President`s threats to arrest traders who have increased prices of food that is locally produced here.

    Medias who revealed that she had maintained her previous prices despite the epidemic threats asked her fellow members to be sympathetic to the community that requires more of their service during/ this trying moment. Ms Medius speaking……

    Ms Moreen Masika said that whereas President Museveni had given the directive, plans should be put to address the issue with the suppliers of goods whom she said had hiked the prices, leaving them with no chances but to increase. Ms Moreen speaking1…….

    Early this week, the Kasese district FDC Chairperson, Mr. Saulo Maate described traders as un religious and mere opportunists who have increased prices of essential goods at a time the local community hardly earn a coin. Mr. Saulo……..

    Addressing the nation yesterday, President Museveni threatened to cancel trading license of those he called Crooks in business. END.
