Mr. Mapoze Selevest, the Local council three chairperson for Mpondwe Lubiriha town council has emphasized the need for traders’ commitment towards an alternative way for cattle trekking into the DR Congo side.
Mr. Mapoze who congers with Mr. Erifazi Muhindi, the LCV chairperson for Kasese District following the harmonisation meeting between the Cattle Traders and officials from Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries-MAAIF, emphasises tradersto use an alternative route than using the main road to trek to DR Congo side.

According to MAAIF, animals are supposed to be ferried on a track to avoid getting in contact with others in case of diseases.
However, Traders were complaining of losses especially in the process of transportation, thus Mr. Mapoze revealing plans to increase their town council routes. Mr. Mapoze speaking 2……..
Earlier, Mr. Mapoze had urged traders to declare the number of animals they transport each time so as not to limit the revenue collection. END
