High Court at Kasese has remanded Mr. Zakaliya Kule until 24th June 2024 to answer charges of Murder and two accounts of aggravated Robbery.
High court Presided over by Hon. Justice David Makumbi heard that on 26th November 2016 while at Maliba police post in Kasese district, the accused with others at large allegedly used machetes including; a panga to kill Sergeant, Joseph Kule, Detective Corporal Richard Allay and SPC Samuel Musana.
The same Court heard that the accused persons robbed two Submachine gun riffles from two of the deceased officers who were legally deployed by the government of Uganda before being killed in their line of duty.
The accused took plea of not guilty and asked Court to allow him get a private lawyer as well, a prayer that was granted, bringing on board Counsel Alfred Makasi who will work alongside the government provided attorney.
Defence Counsel Luke Kanyonyi later told our reporter that hearing had been scheduled for June 24th 2024 since the accused has denied the five charges. Counsel Kanyonyi speaking……
