The Chairperson LC 3 Nyamwamba division in Kasese Municipality Mr. Saidi Kisuki has encouraged his electorates to grow mushrooms for economic, health and medical benefits.
Mr. Said their benefits are the same as those of fruits and vegetables as they are rich in proteins, valuable minerals and vitamins.
He made the remarks this afternoon while presiding over at the official harvest launch of ten million Mushroom project for Kanyangeya Thulibaghuma Women group held at their demonstration farm in Kanyangeya ward, Nyamwamba division.
Mr. Saidi, who said the project is funded under the 20% revenue sharing from Uganda wildlife Authority purposely to create relationship between the park and the local community is expected to benefit the whole community.

Kasese Municipal agricultural officer, Mr. Asanairi Bukanywa who appealed to the members to follow mushroom guidelines said the harvest is expected to be done three times a week.
