Rtd. Maj. John Sibendire Katusabe, an independent candidate for Kasese Municipality MP, has reaffirmed plans to request Government re-design the Temangalo area into a residential zone as an initial intervention against the pending eviction of residents from the contested pieces of land.
While addressing supporters at African Village in Katonzi Cell, Kasese Municipality today, Katusabe said that although a High Court judgment declared Kilembe Mines Limited the legitimate owner of Kihalhimu–Kyaminyoku, Kamaiba, and Golf Course cells in Kasese Municipality, he would lobby the government if elected to allow locals to remain on the disputed land where they have heavily invested.
Maj. Katusabe, a UPDF officer turned politician, said he would promote peace, security and lobby various government ministries, many of which fall under UPDF leadership, to ensure equitable service delivery.
