The Conservative Party presidential candidate, Elton Joseph Mabarizi, has pledged to establish small-scale agricultural factories to help farmers in Kasese District add value to their produce and earn higher returns.
Mabirizi pledged yesterday evening while addressing supporters in Kasese Municipality.
He noted that agriculture, being the backbone of Uganda’s economy, deserves greater investment particularly in post-harvest value addition to boost farmers’ incomes and competitiveness in the market.

Mabirizi expressed disappointment with what he described as the government’s failure to prioritize the agricultural sector. He cited the lack of small factories, seed banks, and affordable agricultural credit facilities for small-scale farmers as key challenges holding back rural transformation. END
