President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has declared the national prayer day a public holiday all over the country.
In a statement released yesterday morning of (28th August 2020) , Museveni said following the successful national prayers organized on August 29, 2020 to pray for the country to overcome the Corona-virus pandemic, he has decided to declare the day a public holiday quoting section 2 (2) of the public holiday act.
He noted that the day came about when someone intimated to him that God had told him a vision that he should organize national prayers to pray for the country.
According to Museveni, the day will be celebrated every August, 29 August and will be a public holiday to dedicate the country into God’s hands.
Mr. Museveni said all Ugandans should stay in their houses or compounds and pray for the nation ENDS.
