Mr. Paul Isabirye, the Luuka District Service Commission chairperson is allegedly on the run following allegations of extorting of 17 million Shillings from Sylvia Baisemubaka, a clinical officer who had applied for a job promotion.
The police are holding George Mudhuli, the head teacher of Tabingwa Primary School in Busalamu Town Council following his arrest on Friday last week over the same fraudulent activity.
Mr. Mudhuli is accused of luring Baisemubaka into a scheme where he promised to influence the commission chairperson to fast-track her promotion. Despite the payment, the promotion interview was postponed, and when it eventually took place, Ms Baisemubaka discovered that the position had been given to another candidate, who had allegedly already received an appointment letter.
