Locals of Kyabarungira and Buhuhira sub-counties in Busongora North Constituency Kasese district yesterday(24 June 2020) mobilized themselves and installed a temporary bridge along river Kuruhe which connects the two sub-counties.

The installment of the bridge that connects Rwesande 2 village in Kyabarungira and Ntonya village in Buhuhira was funded by Eng. Robert Marule who is aspiring for the MP seat for Busongora North in the forthcoming 2021 general elections.

Philemon Mbusa Kibughuma the secretary for social services Kyabarungira sub-county thanked the locals for embracing communal work, noting that the bridge will reduce on accidents that have been happening along the river.

He revealed that some people drowned into the water due to the lack of a bridge to help them cross the river. Kibughuma speaking……

Iriya Munyampara Masereka the LC1 chairperson for Ntonya village in Buhuhira sub-county disclosed that the life of those that have been crossing the river without a bridge, has been at stake.

He noted that the bridge will ease transport for those going to Rwesande health centre IV and other health facilities in the two sub-counties.

Meanwhile Eng. Robert Marule revealed that the purpose of the bridge is to help farmers, students, market attendants and other people to cross the river without hindrance.
