The local residents of Nyisango village, Rukoki subcounty in Kasese district woke up to shock on seeing a local “omukohwa” tree planted at the door way of a local resident’s house in the area.
In a separate interview according to Mzee Firipo Mareseka 76, a local resident of Kanyangeya in Kasese Municipality, the Omukohwa tree among the ancient Bakonzo, was planted at one’s verandah by local residents as an expression of deadly plans against an individual or family perceived to be a social misfit.
Mr. Wilbron Kalibala, the area local council one Chairperson, confirmed the information and said he was investigating circumstances under which Mr. Alozious Kimbugha’s family had been threatened by such unique trees that were traditionally planted against families whose social behavior were in doubt.
