Some local leaders in Kasese district have called for transparency and able technical personnel to desilt deadly rivers in the district or property and lives will keep at risk.
In his submission during a training for subcounty Disaster management committee members’ meeting held at the district headquarters in Rukoki, the district councilor representing Karusandara subcounty, Hon. Christopher Macumu described as an empty deal for government to sideline the local leaderships, deploy cheap and incompetent technical personnel coming on sights only to embezzle public monies.

Mr. Joseph Isingoma, the Kasese district senior planner said the three days training was mainly to remind the participants that disasters exist, as well as training and guiding them about the required response.

The Chairperson local council three for Maliba town council, Mr. Abdul Saadi asked government to fund the construction of the required bridges and culverts which water will always be a deadly challenge to the community. Mr. Abdul speaking………
