Kitabu Sub-County Local Government in Kasese District has accumulated rent arrears worth three hundred forty thousand shillings office rent for the last four months, the area Local Council three chairperson, Mr. Robert Kyana has revealed.
Kitabu sub-county is among the newly established lower administrative units by Government in Kasese District.
Speaking to our reporter last evening in Kasese town, Kyana said the low revenue collection and introduction of the new government financial revenue system IRAS that prohibits spending at source has greatly failed the daily operations of the sub-county.
He revealed that this financial year the sub-county had projected four million shillings local revenue but he is not certain half of the money will be raised.Mr.Kyana one speaking….
Kyana reported that the only source of Revenue for Kitabu sub-county is Kighenge and Mughethe trading centers in addition to coffee hulling and milling machines which are seasonal.
He said through collaborated effort with the sub-county and the Area MP, Hon.Harlod Tony Muhindo, they have managed to construct an immunization house in Kisebere village, appealing to the district health office to upgrade the facility into a health centre two status.

He revealed that people were trekking long distances to access health care services from the neighboring health centre threes and Nyamirami health centre four respectively. END.
