The Police in Kassanda District have intercepted a Bundibugyo-Kampala bound bus for allegedly violating regulations issued to curb the spread of Ebola virus disease.
The bus attached to Link Bus Services Limited was impounded yesterday after it was cited loading from prohibited areas under lockdown that was announced on Saturday in a televised address by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni against in and out movements with an aim to curb the spread of Ebola Virus Disease in Mubende and Kassanda districts.
ASP Rachael Kawala, the Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson who confirmed the arrest of three people over the incident, said that the Police impounded the Link bus from Bundibugyo at Kigalama Stage in Myanzi Sub County in Kassanda District for stopping to pick 2 passengers and two bus inspectors of Link and Hopper Buses.

In his weekend address, President Museveni directed that public transport, private transport and Boda-bodas in Mubende and Kassanda districts are not permitted to move. END
