There was reported low turn up of leaners on the first day of school re-opening yesterday(07.July.2022), Mr. George Mayinjya, the Kasese district education officer has said.
The arts teachers mainly were protesting what they called un genuine salary imbalances between them and their science counterparts this week suspended their industrial action after meeting President Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa Kaguta.
According to Mr. Mayinja, the learners` turn up could have been caused by the suspicion by pupils that the teachers could have not been satisfied enough with the outcome of their meeting with President Museveni
Mr. Mayinja who said some teachers could have engaged in other activities, was confident that the situation will stabilize and schools operate normally especially from next week. Mr. Mayinjya speaking…
