The Central Division leadership in Kasese Municipality has called for the immediate arrest of Mr. Sharif Geoffrey Masereka, the local council one chairperson for Kidodo cell over failure to hand over office.
The Division local council three chairperson, Mr. Safari Martine said his town clerk had already instructed the Kasese Division Police Command to arrest Mr. Sharif for failing to hand over the office stamp after the high court judgment un favored him.
He asked Mr. Sharif to voluntarily handover office or else he would be arrested by police. Mr. Safari speaking1………
Mr. Sharif’s counsel, Mr. Michele Masereka Geoffrey from Bagenda and co. Advocates said the purported arrest by police was illegal since his client has a court order protecting him to run office duties after he appealed the judgment. Counsel Michelle speaking1………
Counsel Michelle who prayed that the Division leadership doesn’t grab the powers of the judiciary, said he had applied to high court for a stay of Execution that temporarily suspend the execution of the court judgment and other several directives from the Division and police as well.
